Students Eligibility

• Students must be in clasees one through nine (1-9). A student is eligible to participate in the India Spelling Bee for no more than five years in total.
• A student must be enrolled in a school that has registered for the India Spelling Bee. They can even register as an indivisual if the school does not register for the given academic year.
• Students can only participate in one ISB per academic year.
• Students in eligible grade levels must follow a school schedule and academic course load comparable to the majority of the student’s peers with respect to both grade and age.
• Evidence of misconduct will result in disqualification.

Registration rules

• India Spelling Bee is an educational competition designed for any school in India. with students in classes one through nine.
• A school must be registered for the contest to participate.
• A minimum of six (6) students from any of the eligible grades (1-9) must be present and actively participate in the school level competition in order for the designated school champion to be eligible to take the qualifying test and be considered for possible advancement to the Regional Level.
• School Level can now be held online as well, if required by the school.
• Official India Spelling Bee materials are the property of the registered school and may not be transferred or used by another school. School ISB materials may not be shared in hard copy or electronic form with anybody who is not an employee of the registered school, either before or after the school ISB.
• Qualifiers for the Regional Level will be posted on the ISB website.
• The Champions from each region in each group are invited to compete in the India Spelling Bee National Championship.
• Any audio, visual, or written recording of school ISB is not permitted. Posting or sharing of videos of school ISB gives an unfair advantage to students at schools that have not yet held their respective ISBs.
