Students must be in grades one through nine (1-9). A student is eligible to participate in the India Spelling Bee for no more than five years in total.
A student must be enrolled in a school that has registered for the India Spelling Bee. Students can only participate in one ISB per academic year.
A student may not attend a school ISB at a different school prior to participating in his or her own school ISB.
Students in eligible grade levels must follow a school schedule and academic course load comparable to the majority of the student’s peers with respect to both grade and age.
Evidence of misconduct will result in disqualification.
The India Spelling Bee is an educational competition designed for any school in India. with students in classes one through nine. Registration is not open to individual students.
A school must be registered for the contest.
A minimum of six (6) students from any of the eligible grades (1-9) must be physically present and actively participate in the school level competition in order for the designated school champion to be eligible to take the qualifying test and be considered for possible advancement to the state level.
Official India Spelling Bee materials are the property of the registered school and may not be transferred or used by another school. School ISB materials may not be shared in hard copy or electronic form with anybody who is not an employee of the registered school, either before or after the school ISB.
State ISB qualifiers will be posted on ISB website. The State / regional level dates will be announced later.
The champions from each state in each category are invited to compete in the India Spelling Bee National Championship in May, 2019.
Any audio, visual, or written recording of school ISB is not permitted. Posting or sharing of videos of school ISB gives an unfair advantage to students at schools that have not yet held their respective ISBs.
